“The Fidelity iPod docking stations have been available since just before Christmas, and they are beautiful. A solid block of wood is CNC-machined and finished with a hard enamel coating. ALO offers six different options: Black Walnut, Cherry, Paduke, Purple Heart, Quilted Maple, and (my favorite) Zebra. Price is $250-$280, depending on the finish. The Zebra, of course, costs the most-I have expensive tastes. There are no black, white, silver, or Ferrari red options. I like it that way. Somebody tell somebody: Shiny plastic is so three years ago. Wood is the new white…”

“So, what does the vcap add? A lot! All the above things I said about the iMod apply to the vcap, and more. In particular, I am blown away by the increase in depth. Musicians are now not only standing across a wide space in my head, the stage they are playing on has taken truly 3d dimensions, front to back. The music has an amazing amount of additional clarity – I’m hearing details is songs I’ve literally been listening to for over 30 years, all this without trying very hard….”

The ALO SR225 Grado Headphone Mod-
TThanks for a great job Ken, The sound is amazing and I love the job you did wiring. I will recommend to my friends. They make my Bose over-hear noise neutralizing headphones sound pathetic. Feel free to quote me! Best money I have spend on anything music related was this whole package from you!!! I am hearing things in songs I didn’t even know where in there.”

“The AKG701 is another success story Steve (Hoffman) and I went bonkers over this mod. I was so excited about these when I first heard them here with the Woo Audio 300B amp, I shipped a pair right off to Steve’s house. We felt that the original sound of the 701 is a little dark and closed, but with the ALO mod/recable it goes to a much higher level of performance. Steve has always had issues with his stock 701’s, calling them “lackluster at best’ but after some time with the ALO version, he could not believe they were even the same phones”

“One word – WOW. I must be honest and confess that I doubted that a little bit of cotton would make a difference in the sound. More importantly, I wondered whether the added cotton should justify a higher price. I wonder and doubt no more. This cable is simply amazing…..If you want a quality line out dock with fantastic build quality that provide unparalleled sound then order the Bling Bling Line Out. If you feel you must have the absolute best to compliment your Hi-Fi portable rig then you must get the Cotton Dock. My personal choice would be to get the Cotton Dock as the sound it provides is simply spellbinding. Your bound to win with either of the two choices but my recommendation is to go with the Cotton Dock as the sound is simply fantastic and it is a sound which no other line out will be able to provide…. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!”

“AudioLineOut’s simple design is a winner in my book. Moving from two cable components to one is a positive. Doing so while keeping costs down and significantly increasing sound quality borders on astounding. With the exception of the two issues noted above, I wholehearted recommend one of these adapters to anyone using an iPod and an amp with mini jacks. On the choice of copper versus silver, these adapters perform quite traditionally, so test if possible, but at least read up on the expected differences before picking your poison. Then prepare your wallet, because the new kid on the block just moved to the top of the class.”
